The land that time forgot ! It was like going back in time . Over expensive parking fees . Extortionate refreshments from the caravans , ie £2.50 for a paper cup of tea. Toilet facilities were in Portaloos located next to the disaster that is Pontins . All of the buildings have an air of dereliction about them . The beach was ok , the dog had fun at least . No problem with the local "gentry" but then again Im an ex police officer. like I said , its The land that time forgot.

The only real benefit of this beach is that you can drive onto it and park on the sand. The bar and cafe at the entrance are also handy and it has ice cream and snack vans on beach too.

Beach is Sandy but tatty with seaweed and the sand quality isn’t that nice and clean.

It’s fine for kids to play and it’s a big beach.

The main issue we had was trying to enjoy a bit of peace in the parking area after parking up and sitting outside the car. The constant shouting from chavs and rough looking scruffy blokes carrying cans of lager.

Formby beach a little further down is gorgeous with much nicer clientele, although it’s more of walk to the beach.

We tried this beach out after seeing a road sign that stated there was no parking available at Formby Beach. What a mistake. After waiting in painfully slow traffic, we edged into the car park (£10 for the day) after passing the Pontins which resembled a prison. If you're a fan of car parks then this is the place for you.

This place was basically just a sea of cars. I was shocked at the number of people there to be honest because it wasn't exactly picturesque. Some people weren't even bothering to go onto the beachfront and were actually just sat in deck chairs in the car park! Each to their own I guess.

Great day out for families. You pay £10 for all day to park on beach. No having to walk with bags of luggage.Kids can play in sand dunes. Walkable to sea. Ice cream van and snack van onsite.
You need to get there early as gets busy by 12 noon.
