Letter drop to raise awareness after spate of burglaries in Southport

PCSO's in Southport have continued to letter-drop an area of Churchtown that has been subject to multiple burglaries from sheds/garages in recent weeks. If you have received one of thepolice  'BURGLARY ALERT' letters, please do not dismiss it.

The aim is to raise awareness of the issue, so that residents can review their own home security and look for any weaknesses that need addressing, and check sheds and garages to ensure that they have not already been victims of this type of crime without realising. If this is the case, please ensure you report any burglary or attempted burglary on your property via the methods shown. Evidence from your incident could be the missing piece of evidence the police need.

This is the preventative aspect being taken to reduce the risk to other properties. The other aspect is active patrols to find and arrest those responsible.

Several residents spoken to today were advised about security, due to front doors and cars being found unlocked. Please lock doors and secure vehicles at all times to reduce the risk to your own property.
