Lorry overturns into ditch on Plex Moss Lane Southport

The driver of a lorry loaded with heavy metal supports had a lucky escape this morning after ending up in a ditch on the narrow and twisty Plex Moss Lane in Southport.

Police have closed the road until the lorry can be recovered with heavy lifting equipment.

Over the years dozens of drivers have been caught out by following sat navs directing them down the Lane.

There is no sign at the Woodvale end to state that the Lane is unsuitable for heavy vehicles.
