Southport Lifeboat Quads in rescue of pregnant woman in Formby

A spokesperson for the Lifeboat commented...

Our quads were tasked by Holyhead Coastguard to assist in the medivac of a pregnant female with an ankle fracture dislocation on Formby Beach.

Our ATVs proceeded to Formby where they met with HM Coastguard Southport and HM Coastguard Crosby who were with the casualty.

Our quads administered casualty care and helped stabilise the casualty before the arrival of the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust and HART team.

The casualty was than transferred to the waiting ambulance at Victoria Road beach car park to be taken on to hospital.

Our thanks to all involved in a successful multi-agency tasking. We would also like to thank the National Trust / National Trust Formby staff who remained with the casualty from the moment of the injury until the transfer into the ambulance.
