140th Arrest in Merseyside Violent Disorder Incidents

Police have arrested the 140th person in connection with incidents of Violent Disorder in Merseyside.

A 37-year-old man from Hindley, Wigan was arrested on suspicion of Violent Disorder and assault an emergency worker in Southport. He is in Police custody awaiting interview.

The total number of people arrested for disorder in Merseyside now stands at 140, with 97 charged and 78 sentenced to a combined 164 years and five months in prison.
