55 Drivers Breaching 'No Entry' Law Spoken To by Southport Officers
Southport Neighbourhood Officers were out on Queens Road in Southport yesterday morning, conducting stops and, where necessary breath tests, on drivers who breached the NO ENTRY sign.
In total 55 drivers were stopped and spoken to, including some who saw officers in the road and tried to avoid being stopped. On this occasion drivers were just given words of advice regarding the breach of the traffic regulation.
Several breath tests were undertaken, all of which were negative.
One car was seized due to the driver driving other than in accordance with a licence.
We will be out conducting more road checks over the Christmas and New Year period. The message is clear, drivers who choose to drink alcohol or use drugs put other lives at risk.
