£6,500 raised for Queenscourt Hospice in Southport as they celebrate 30 years of care
2021 marked 30 years of Queenscourt providing compassionate care for local people across West Lancashire, Formby and Southport, when they need us the most. In honour of our Pearl Anniversary, our very own Mascot Queenie was transformed into a Pearly Queen, complete with a matching jacket and hat!
It is tradition that Pearly Kings and Queens raise funds for charities, particularly to support those in need of help. Queenie showcased her new outfit to wear as restrictions began to ease and appeared at local fundraising events, hoping to inspire support for Queenscourt.
To celebrate, we launched a Pearl Anniversary Rose Appeal which raised over £6,500 for our charity, as well as a special Pearl Anniversary Raffle with a top prize of £3,000.
Peter Gordon, who won the top prize, said: “You have to remember that the Hospice is run as a charity so funds are greatly needed. It is a great charity to support for the benefit of local people and that’s why I chose to donate part of my winnings back to Queenscourt.”
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Pearl Anniversary fundraising – your support has made all the difference.
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas & New Year!
