76-Year-Old Woman Left with Life Threatening Injuries After Road Accident

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Maghull on Thursday 25th January.

Merseyside Police were contacted at 11.25am following reports a female pedestrian had been in collision with car on Northway, close to the junction of Liverpool Road South.

The car, a silver Mini Cooper stopped at the scene and the driver is assisting Police with their enquiries.

The 76-year-old woman pedestrian, was taken to hospital, where she remains with life threatening injuries.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, Lead Investigating Officer from Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family as they await updates on her condition. 

“This collision happened at busy location and as such I believe it will have been witnessed by members of the public.  I appeal directly to anyone who saw anything and who has yet to speak with my team, to please get in touch. 

“In addition, I would ask local businesses and homeowners with CCTV to check their systems to see if the collision has been captured.  We know the area was busy with traffic and as such I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time who has dashcam fitted to their vehicles to urgently review it.  Any help we receive, no matter how insignificant it may seem can assist our investigation.”
