A cat update from Woodlands Animal Sanctuary near Southport
Through all the ups and downs, throughout the pandemic and over the festive period, the team at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary have been caring for, treating and rehabilitating a range of beautiful kitties, all of whom are now looking for a second chance of a loving home of their own.
From younger cats to older ones, if you are thinking of welcoming a feline friend into your heart and into your home, the team invite you to have a look at their website, and send in an application form to give one, or two, of these deserving cats a loving forever home.
Smudge and Cali are two of the cats who have been at Woodlands the longest and the team can’t understand why these two fabulous boys have been over-looked.
Cali is a 9 years old, semi long haired male, who loves nothing more than snoozing his days away lying on a lovely warm radiator. He is however, all black, which if you are a regular supporter of Woodlands will know that that means it can take more than twice as long to rehome him than a cat of any other colour! Cali, came to Woodlands last November, after his owner sadly passed away. As with all of the cats available for rehoming from Woodlands, Cali is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. With him being a long-haired cat, he will need daily grooming, to ensure his coat doesn’t matt, but if that can be coupled with a good head scratch, Cali couldn’t be happier. Due to his previous home, Woodlands would like him to go to a home with no other pets or children.
Smudge however, is a playful two-year-old, handsome black and white cat. Also neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated, he is looking for a home in a quiet area, where he can play safely outside and expend some of his energy. He does however, also like to lie next to you, whilst enjoying a good stroke and if you don’t give him the attention he wants, he is quite happy to let you know how he’s feeling as he can be quite vocal!
If you are interested in either of these boys, or would like to see the other cats Woodlands have available, simply visit their website and fill in an application form. Alex, their Rehoming Officer will then help you find your purfect feline friend.
The charity does have a waiting list, of equally deserving cats, who are all waiting for their chance of a happy ever after. However, they cannot take in any cats until they rehome the ones they already have. This means, that every time you rehome a cat from a rescue, you are not only helping that one cat, but also the next cat who will be able to move into their pen!
