A paediatrician from Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals has been awarded an Honorary Clinical Professor title by Edge Hill University.
Professor May Ng OBE was awarded the title after receiving a nomination from Lucy Bray, Professor of Child Health Literacy at Edge Hill.
The award adds to Professor May’s distinguished list of honours, including Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool and Order of the British Empire.
Lucy Bray, Professor of Child Health Literacy at Edge Hill, said: “I am so pleased that Dr May Ng is joining the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine as Honorary Clinical Professor; it was a pleasure to nominate her for this position.
“She brings a wealth of clinical and research expertise, and her passion and commitment to improve the health care experiences and outcomes of children and young people aligns well with our work within the Faculty.
“This appointment will help further develop the close relationship between Edge Hill University and our nearest NHS trust.”
Professor Ng, who has a remarkable five academic degrees, an MBBS with Honours, an MSc, an LLM, a PhD, an MBA with an outstanding record in the areas of teaching, service, and leadership, said: “I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to developing future research and teaching collaborations with Edge Hill University and the Faculty of Health of Health, Social Care and Medicine.”
