AE Yates construction start work on Southport Pier

AE Yates Construction started work on Southport Pier today. According to the engineer on site the Pier will be surveyed, and then large sections will be taken away for repair and in some cases, rebuilt.

The cafe at the end of the Pier is not directly attached and will be refurbished in situ.

The engineer said the work will take about two years to complete, depending on the weather and tides etc .
