Andy Burgess Joins The Backroom Staff at Southport FC

Southport FC can confirm that Andy Burgess has joined the club in a support role to Liam and Todd.

Andy will take on the role of performance analyst, he will also assist with scouting players both for the first team and our Academy and provide opposition reports and analysis, he provides a wealth of football experience. Andy is currently a scout with Championship side Luton Town. 

Andy. who is also a member of The Big Help Project Team also has managerial experience at AFC Rushden & Diamonds where as a player for the now defunct Rushden and Diamonds he made over 250 appearances and is an R&D “Legend”

He previously managed Barnton and prior to that he was heavily involved in Women’s Football, managing Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and the Leeds United Women’s Teams

He scored goals in both of the games for R&D against Southport in 2000/2001!
