Another trespasser on the Southport to Liverpool line results in delays to early morning trains
Merseyrail trains running on the Southport to Liverpool were once again delayed this morning after a trespasser entered the network.
Early morning commuters were frustrated as trains were late. Some trains ran semi fast meaning they did not stop at all stations as Merseyrail tried to catch up the service.
Some customers took to social media to vent their frustration.

The 713 from central to hunts cross was 7 mins late so went straight to hunts cross only. Now the next service is 9 minutes late will this be stopping at brunswick or going straight thru? Such an awful service

We will all just get to work late again shall we not like it affects any of you your already in work, I for one am sick and tired of paying more every year for a train network that isn't fit for purpose this happens on a regular basis now so why don't you do something about it

Good morning James, I'm really sorry to hear your comments and for the inconvenience caused this morning. We only run services semi-fast as a last resort and unfortunately this service had been delayed due to a trespass incident earlier.
Compensation is available if your train has been cancelled or are delayed by more than 30 minutes, this does also depend on the type of ticket held. You can find out more info here: https://bit.ly/3feWAVg and via the attached image. Thank you
