Appeal after serious RTC where driver failed to stop

Emergency services were called to Birkenhead following a serious RTC on Saturday, 25 December 2021.

At around 12.45pm, we were called to Hoylake Road, Birkenhead to reports of a collision involving an unknown vehicle and a scrambler bike rider.

The teenage male rider was removed via air ambulance and has been taken to hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries to his leg. He is in a serious but stable condition.

The driver failed to stop at the scene and an investigation is underway.

We are appealing for any witnesses, cctv and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation. 

Hoylake Road, Ilchester Road and Stanley Road are currently closed while the incident is being dealt with, and drivers are advised to find an alternative route. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident.
