Appeal for information following serious collision on Southport Road in Thornton
Officers are appealing for more information after a collision in Thornton last night (Monday 7 February) left a man in a critical condition.
At around 10.15pm, officers were called to a report of a collision involving a white Porsche Cayenne, a grey Toyota Yaris and a silver Audi on Southport Road, Thornton.
The driver of the white Porsche Cayenne was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Toyota Yaris sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
The driver of the Silver Audi was uninjured.
Southport Road southbound was closed towards Brooms Cross Road but has since been reopened.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
Sergeant Steve Smith from Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are in the early stages of investigating a serious collision on Southport Road in Liverpool late last night that has left both a man and a woman in their 50s with severe injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the circumstances. Therefore, we’d ask that anyone who was driving on Ince Road near the roundabout to Brooms Cross Road at around 10.15pm last night and witnessed the collision or captured anything on dashcam or other devices to come forward as soon as possible.
“Your information could be absolutely vital to our investigation.”
