Armed Police surround vehicle on Scarisbrick New Road in Southport

Armed Police have stoppped a vehicle on Scarisbrick New Road in Southport at approximately 3.15 this afternoon.

Police used T pack tactics to bring the vehicle to a halt.

The male driver was arrested and placed in a police car .

The road is cordoned off and diversions are in operation.
