Banbury United v Southport Preview

Southport make a first ever trip to Banbury on Saturday for a game that we hope will see The Sandgrounders get back on the winning trail. Kick Off is at 3pm.

Banbury are currently 2nd in the early Vanarama National league North table after an excellent start to the season.

It goes without saying that goals have been hard to come by for Southport this season and manager Liam Watson is hoping to have added extra firepower to his squad before kick off on Saturday.

After the 5 opening day goals at Boston, Southport have struggled in front of goal with only one additional goal adding to the tally.

After a 0-0 draw last Saturday at home to AFC Telford United, in a poor performance, Southport lost narrowly at title favourites AFC Fylde on Bank Holiday in a much improved display that everyone present felt deserved a point.
