Bankfield Lane in Southport to be closed for approximately three months

Southport's Bankfield Lane will be closed, between Verulam Road and Merlewood Avenue, from Tuesday 19 April 2022 for approximately 3 months.

Bus diversions advised by Merseytravel are as follows:

Route 49 will travel as normal from Woodvale to Manor Road, then via Cambridge Road, Preston New Road, Balmoral Drive, North Road, Rufford Road, then as normal route to Crossens (omitting a section of Cambridge Road, Botanic Road and Bankfield Lane). This service will return via the reverse of this route.

Route 705 will travel as normal from Birkdale High School to Rufford Road, then via North Road, Preston New Road, Cambridge Road, Botanic Road, (u-turn at turning circle) Botanic Road, then as normal route to High Park (omitting Bankfield Lane).

Route 714 will travel as normal from Crossens to Rufford Road, then via North Road, Preston New Road, Cambridge Road, Botanic Road, (u-turn at turning circle) Botanic Road, then as normal route to Christ the King (omitting Bankfield Lane). This service will return via the reverse of this route.
