Bird flu discovered in Up Holland not far from Southport

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed on 7 January 2022 in birds at a non-commercial premises near Upholland, West Lancashire, Lancashire. All birds on the infected premises will be humanely culled.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone has been put in place around the premises.
