Birkdale Park Nursing Home Matron Elaine Williams RGN Receives Certificate for 50 years Nursing from NMC Presented by Merseyside Lord Lieutenant Mark Blundell
50 years of continuous nursing service! Recently Elaine Williams (Registered General Nurse) was awarded a certificate of recognition for 50 years of continuous nursing service from the Nursing and Midwifery Council at Birkdale Park Nursing Home in Southport and presented by Mark Blundell (Merseyside Lord Lieutenant).
Jonathan Cunningham, Registered Care Manager said, ‘we are immensely proud of our home Matron Elaine. This is an incredible award that we had to appropriately recognise her immense achievement. Huge thanks and appreciation to Mark Blundell the Merseyside Lord Lieutenant for agreeing to make the presentation to Elaine. She is a wonderful nurse and everyone loves her! Congratulation Elaine.’
Elaine started her nursing career in 1971 as a nursing cadet working on Southport Spinal Wards at Southport Promenade Hospital. Over the years she has worked in hospitals and multiple care homes. Her passion is end of life palliative care and has a particular interest in wounds management. She has been at Birkdale Park Nursing Home for many years and has promised to remain for another 50 years!
Mark Blundell spent an hour visiting Birkdale Park, meeting the residents and staff and shown electronic digital care planning and other uses for IT in a social care setting.
Well done Nursing Elaine, the world needs more Elaines.
