Blyth Spartans v Southport preview

blyth

Southport FCstart their first of five in a row away from Haig Avenue on Tuesday with a long trip to the North East and a visit to Blyth Spartans.

It’s the second attempt to get to Blyth with the first attempt called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Tickets are on sale via the Blyth website https://blythspartans.com  There will be a cash turnstile but it is recommended that we purchase tickets in advance to avoid queuing.

Keenan Quansah will be trying to serve the second of his two game suspension, it’s becoming a long two games with all the call offs.

The forecast for Blyth does look better but we are learning not to take too much notice of weather forecasts of late.

The hosts did get a game on on Saturday and came away with a very creditable 2-2 draw from Gloucester (close on a 600 mile round trip) despite playing over an hour with 10 men after Nicky Deverdics was sent off.

They are with out a win since November 22nd and without a home win since November 5th but last time out at home they held King’s Lynn to a 0-0 draw.

Isaac Walker has made a flying start as a Spartans player scoring 4 goals in 5 games and looks to be the one to watch
