Body found by Marine Way Bridge in Southport

Police have cordoned off the Marine Way Bridge in Southport after a body was found underneath. Although not confirmed it seems according to witnesses a person has hung themselves.

A section of the railings by the bridge was covered with green plastic sheeting by the Fire Service and the area at the rear of Bliss was also cordoned off.

Police will update later.

Diversions are in operation.
