Boosted Security Measures in Southport Ahead of Air Show

If you saw #ProjectServator officers in Southport today, ahead of Southport Air Show – don't worry.
These deployments can appear anywhere and at any time, and it’s all about disrupting criminal activity and keeping you safe.
These uniformed and plain-clothes officers are specially trained to spot tell-tale signs that someone may be gathering information to help them plan or prepare to commit a crime. During deployments, the officers will also speak with members of the public and engage with staff to encourage vigilance and the reporting of suspicious activity.
Today, deployments popped up at the promenade, Lord Street and the railway station. Thank you to everyone that stopped to speak with officers about the importance of reporting suspicious activity.
If you are heading to Southport to enjoy the air show – have a great time and look out for each other. Stay vigilant and be aware of what is happening around you as well as in the skies above you.
Please report anything that you see that doesn't feel right. Don't assume someone else will – tell a police officer or steward/staff. Alternatively, call the police on 101. In an emergency, always call 999.
