Bootle Man, 55, Arrested for Theft at Ainsdale's Tesco Express

Bernard McCartney (55) from Bootle was arrested by an Ainsdale dedicated Neighbourhood Officer yesterday, Tuesday 14th April, on suspicion of theft from Tesco Express in Ainsdale that took place on the 2nd April. The value of items stolen was £75.

McCartney is subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) with conditions that prevent him from entering various stores, including the store where the offence took place. He was arrested and subsequently charged with the theft and breach of CBO and kept in custody for court today. A court result will be provided when we have it.

Across the whole of the Southport area, North Sefton Neighbourhood officers are addressing thefts from shops and businesses. More thefts involving prolific offenders are under investigation. Watch this space for further updates.
