Merseyside Police are continuing their appeal for information about 17-year-old Jevan Moore, who has been missing from Birkdale since the early hours of Tuesday 22 September. He is described as tall and slim, with shoulder-length brown wavy hair, and is known to visit Birkdale and Southport.

02 CouncilSefton Council responds to misleading information on Promenade scheme
Sefton Council says the proposed Southport promenade scheme is designed to improve transport infrastructure, safety, accessibility and capacity around the future MLEC, rather than being solely a cycle lane. The Council says the wider investment will improve links between the town centre, pier, MLEC and other seafront attractions.

03 EnvironmentHousehold recycling centres across Merseyside to close earlier from 1 October
Household Waste Recycling Centres across Merseyside move to winter hours from 1 October, opening from 8am to 5pm until 31 March 2027. Halton sites will open until 6pm. Residents are advised to plan visits, check accepted materials and take care around vehicles, children and pets.

06 CouncilMeet Vicky: The Woman Helping Keep Southport Clean, One Street at a Time
Street Cleansing Operative Victoria Phillips is part of Sefton Council’s work to improve Southport’s streets, using specialist equipment to remove litter, debris and chewing gum. The Council has invested an additional £1.5 million in cleaner streets, while expanded enforcement teams have issued more than 50 fly-tipping-related notices.

07 What's OnMore than 20,000 people attend Southport’s musical fireworks weekend
More than 20,000 people attended Southport’s British Musical Fireworks Championship, including a record 13,000 visitors on Saturday. Monumental Fireworks won the 2026 competition, followed by Fire Monkey Pyro and Sonic Fireworks. The weekend also featured live music, family activities, food vendors and a sensory quiet zone.
