British Musical Fireworks Championship

 

We love music, we love colour, and we love gasping with delight at the spectacular firework displays. Southport’s British Musical Fireworks Championship is back with a bang!

And this year we are making the Friday night even better! The competition will now run from Friday 22nd to Saturday 23rd September in Victoria Park, Southport.

We are so excited to watch this year’s competitors battle it out over the three nights, each hoping to be crowned the ultimate winner! Our panel of professional judges will be scoring throughout.

It’s almost time to grab a blanket and head to Victoria Park to celebrate the start of the Autumn with Southport’s British Musical Fireworks Championship. We can’t wait for the breath-taking displays, children gasping with delight, and dancing the night away at our favourite fireworks extravaganza!

The British Musical Fireworks Championship is a pyro musical competition. The fireworks are fired to the music and the show is choreographed to give you some of the most spectacular fireworks you will ever see.

During the competition, over two tonnes of explosive material are used with the total weight of fireworks over 10 tonnes! Each show required around 5 kilometres of wire to connect the electrical circuits and around 15 technicians working for over 12 hours to set up the display.

Remember that gates open at 18.00 each night and each display will be 15 minutes. Parking is available in Princes Park.
