British Transport Police confirm a fatality at Crescent Road crossing in Southport

In a short statement, BTP said...

British Transport Police were called to the line near Birkdale at 6.21pm yesterday evening (27 September) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended, and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
