High visibility patrols to tackle hate crime.

Following the ongoing conflict in Israel and the border with Gaza, British Transport Police will be conducting high-visibility patrols at stations across the network to reassure and protect communities.

Assistant Chief Constable Sean O’Callaghan said: "We understand the wide-reaching effect the conflict overseas has on our communities and extend our full support to those impacted.

"We are working with the rail industry and our community partners to ensure those using the rail network feel safe and protected while they travel, including conducting high-visibility patrols.

"If you see or experience hate crime, or any other threatening behaviour, please report it to us so we can take action. We are fortunate to operate in a CCTV rich environment allowing us to quickly identify offenders and make arrests."

Report to British Transport Police by texting 61016, via the Railway Guardian app, online, or by calling 0800 40 50 40.

In an emergency, always call 999.
