Burglary and Stalking Arrests Add to Southport's Busy Crime Week
On Monday two men aged 30 and 31 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class 'B' drugs. During a search of a car belonging to one of the men, large quantities of cannabis and scales were found on board. Subsequently, both have now been arrested for obstructing police and one with assault of an emergency worker. in addition to the possession with intent to supply.
On Wednesday Officers from Targeted Policing arrested a 42 year old man on suspicion of drug drive and possession of an offensive weapon after stopping a vehicle on Upper Aughton Road. The same man was later arrested separately on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class 'B' drugs (cannabis).
Yesterday (Thursday 19th), a 33 year old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession with intent to supply class 'A' drugs after being stopped near to Hesketh Park. A large number of wraps believed to be cocaine were found during a search of the man's car.
Also on Thursday, a 53 year old man was arrested on suspicion of a distraction burglary on Lord Street.
This afternoon (Friday 20th), a man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking by Officers from our North Sefton Investigations Team and a 30 year old woman has been arrested by Neighbourhood Police Officers on suspicion of burglary at an address on Sandbrook Road in Ainsdale.
