Burnt out Transit Van on the Marine Drive in Southport

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, along with the Police, were called to a blazing Ford Transit parked on Marine Drive close to the Yacht Club in the early hours of this morning. The fire was soon extinguished, but extensive damage was caused to the vehicle.

Along with the fire damage the rear doors appear to have been forced apart presumably to check that there was nobody inside. 

It is not known if there were any injuries.
