Vue Southport introduces audio streaming technology for hearing loss
Vue Southport takes the next step in accessible cinema for people with hearing loss
A new technology that allows audiences to stream audio directly into their compatible devices has arrived at Vue Southport, allowing film fans with hearing loss to enjoy the big screen experience without barriers.
All screens at Vue Southport can make the most of the Auracast™ broadcast audio-based assistive listening system, known as Auri™.
Cinemagoers with Auracast™ enabled hearing aids, Cochlear implants, headphones, or earbuds can select a broadcast stream and receive the audio directly into their compatible devices.
Dedicated receivers are available for guests that do not have Auracast™ enabled devices or would prefer to borrow one.
The assistive listening system, co-developed by Listen Technologies and Ampetronic, can also deliver audio description to visually impaired patrons and can support individuals with neurodiversity who may prefer a quieter experience.
The installation is part of Vue’s ongoing commitment to delivering the very best big screen entertainment for its customers; combining premium comfort and cutting-edge technology for the ultimate customer experience.
Emily Heath, General Manager at Vue Southport, said: “We’re constantly striving to make our customer experience more accessible, immersive and enjoyable; which is why we’re so excited to be introducing Auracast™ across all of our screens at Vue Barrow. From the latest blockbusters and family favourites to classic re-runs and sporting events, audiences with hearing loss can enjoy crystal-clear audio right from their seat.”
Auracast™ supports unlimited connections with compatible receiving devices, meaning every cinemagoer at Vue Barrow with an Auracast™ enabled device or dedicated receiver can access the technology. To find out what’s screening, visitwww.myvue.com.
