Can you help us give a gift to every patient at Southport Hospital this Christmas?
Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Charity is looking for your help to ensure that every patient waking up in hospital in the two areas on Christmas Day receives a gift.
Every year the hospitals sadly see a number of patients forced to spend the big day in hospital and the annual charity appeal, which always proves a huge success, aims to put a smile on the faces of those people unable to go home for Christmas.
Charity Fundraising Manager, Ashley Flint, said the appeal always made a huge difference to patients.
He said: “It’s a heart-breaking prospect for anyone to imagine someone they love spending Christmas in hospital so a gift can help bring smiles to the faces of our patients and give them a Christmas boost until they can return home to their families where they belong.
“We are asking people to make a donation of their own chosen amount to help us select appropriate presents with our clinical colleagues. From the money donated we will purchase some lovely gifts that will be wrapped and put into sacks ready for Christmas Day.
“Last year’s campaign was really successful. Thanks to the generosity of the public, we were able to supply more than 400 patients of all ages and across all wards, with gifts and the overwhelmingly positive feedback we had from ward managers made us feel like we were able to make a massive difference to those who were sadly staying with us on Christmas Day.
“We would love to hear from as many people as possible and every penny donated will help.’’
