Clean up of Southport Beach begins

Contractors working for Sefton Council have started to clean up Southport Beach by removing a vast quantity of mud from the entrance. Presumably the mud is being removed to improve access for the large number of catering outlets that will be arriving for next weekends Air Show.

The mud is being dumped close to the tideline.Last year was a disaster with scores of vehicles stuck and people having to walk through the mud to go to the toilet.

Sadly, though, there is no beach parking or viewing from the closed Southport Pier.
