Southport remembers Alice, Bebe and Elsie two years on. Video
Hundreds of people gathered outside Southport Town Hall today to remember Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe, two years after they were killed in the attack on 29 July 2024.
The three girls died during a children’s dance event in Southport. Ten other people were physically injured, while others continue to live with psychological injuries following the attack.
A three-minute silence was held as part of the remembrance, followed by a round of applause.
The silence was observed across Southport at 3pm on Wednesday 29 July 2026. Sefton Council had asked residents to join in wherever they were, while flags on public buildings were lowered to half-mast.
The council said the anniversary was a difficult time for the families of Alice, Bebe and Elsie, those injured, emergency responders and everyone affected by the events.
