Woodlands Animal Sanctuary seeks permanent home for Tabella

Woodlands Animal Sanctuary is appealing for the right person to give long-term

independent cat Tabella a permanent home. After 173 days in care, the 10--year-old is waiting for

someone who can respect her boundaries while offering the secure, loving environment she

deserves.

A Life of Independence

Tabella spent a happy decade living with a single lady who cherished her independent spirit. The two

thrived on each other’s company – asking for nothing more than mutual respect, freedom from

forced social interaction, and the secure knowledge that they were loved and wanted in each other’s

lives.

When her companion’s health deteriorated, both women found themselves unable to care for

themselves or each other. Tabella was brought back to Woodlands, the first safe place she had

known in her early weeks of life.

Specific Needs, Specific Love

Tabella is refreshingly honest about what she wants. She’s happy to receive affection – but strictly

on her terms: two strokes on the head only. The neck and back are firmly off-limits. She doesn’t

demand social interaction or constant attention; instead, she thrives in an environment where she

has her own space, daily care, and access to communal areas without the expectation of

engagement.

“Tabella knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to tell you,” said Lynn, Woodlands Head of Animal

Welfare . “She’s not a cat for everyone – but for the right person, someone who respects her

independence and boundaries, she’s absolutely perfect. She offers unconditional love in return for

understanding.”

The Perfect Match

Ideal rehomers will:

 Respect Tabella’s clear boundaries around physical affection

 Provide her with her own space within the home

 Allow outdoor access if safe to do so

 Understand that she doesn’t need constant interaction to feel secure

“Tabella’s last decade shows what she’s capable of – a deep, meaningful bond built on mutual

respect and acceptance,” added Lynn. “We’re looking for someone special who can offer her exactly

that again.”
