County Lines Intensification Week: 19 Arrested, Drugs and Weapons Seized in South Lancashire
19 people have been arrested across South Lancashire as part of a major national crackdown on County Lines offenders.
As part of County Lines Intensification Week (25th Nov - 1st Dec), thousands of pounds in cash, Class A and Class B drugs, weapons and mobile phones were seized across the division, which covers Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire.
County Lines is the transportation of illegal drugs from one area to another, usually by children or vulnerable adults who are coerced into it by criminal gangs.
Here’s what we did across South Lancashire as part of the week:
19 people arrested
14 vulnerable people visited and safeguarded
Cash totalling £56,000 seized
A quantity of drugs including heroin, crack cocaine and ketamine seized
Weapons including a zombie knife, machete and imitation firearm seized
Designer watches, dirt bikes and a Range Rover, believe to have been acquired from proceeds of crime seized.
We are committed to uncovering and dismantling these lines, not only to safeguard our young people, but also to reduce the flow and access to drugs and other illegal materials in Lancashire.
