You may remember back in June 2022, Officers from South Rural Taskforce, seized 26 animals from a Lancashire couple where the animals were found to be living in filth with no food, water or bedding, stacked up in cages and suffering health conditions.

Following a joint investigation lead by the RSPCA we can now report that they have been banned from keeping animals and received suspended prison sentences. This was dreadful job where the sights and smells have stayed with us.

We are so pleased that all the animals have recovered and found new loving homes. We are proud to have such great working relations with the RSPCA and continue to do all we can to address animal welfare whether in the course or connection to a rural or wildlife crime or if they have been allowed to suffer by owners in our county.
