Axel Rudakubana charged with four offences over alleged HMP Belmarsh incidents
Axel Rudakubana has been charged with four offences linked to separate incidents at HMP Belmarsh, including two alleged assaults on emergency workers and possession of a weapon in prison.
The Metropolitan Police said the charges relate to incidents between May and October 2025. Rudakubana, now 19, is accused of:
assaulting an emergency worker on 6 May 2025;
attempting to cause grievous bodily harm on 8 May 2025;
unauthorised possession of an offensive weapon in prison on 26 June 2025; and
assaulting an emergency worker on 28 October 2025.
He is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court by videolink on Friday, 11 September 2026.
