BTP releases images after an assault and £2,000 e-bike stolen at Ainsdale station
British Transport Police has released images of a man officers want to identify after an e-bike worth about £2,000 was stolen from Ainsdale railway station.
The theft happened at around 10.58am on Thursday 13 August 2026, on one of the station’s platforms in Southport.
Police said the man rode away on the e-bike and assaulted its owner when they tried to confront him.
Officers believe the man pictured may have information that could assist their investigation.
Ainsdale is a Merseyrail station on the Northern line, with services towards Southport and Hunts Cross.
Anyone who recognises the man or has information about the theft is asked to text British Transport Police on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 265 of 13 August.
