Five dogs and weapons seized during Ormskirk police warrant
Police seized a significant number of weapons and other prohibited items during a warrant at an address in Ormskirk on Saturday, August 8.
Officers from the Ormskirk Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out the intelligence-led operation with support from Lancashire Constabulary’s Task Force.
During the search, officers found bladed articles, crossbows and suspected imitation firearms, along with other items described by police as offensive weapons.
Five dogs were also removed from the property because of concerns about their welfare and suspected neglect by their owner. The animals have been safeguarded and are receiving appropriate care.
A man was arrested on suspicion of related offences. He remained in police custody while enquiries continued, according to information issued by police.
The operation involved Ormskirk’s community beat managers and Task Force officers. Lancashire Constabulary said the warrant demonstrated the value of community intelligence in helping officers target criminality, remove dangerous weapons and protect vulnerable animals.
