Police appeal after security guard attacked at Southport Santander branch
Police cordoned off a Santander bank branch in Southport after a security guard was attacked on Tuesday evening, October 20.
The incident was reported at about 10.30pm. Merseyside Police said a man was reported to have assaulted the security guard, and officers are investigating.
Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: "We are in the early stages of the investigation and are keen to speak to anyone who may have saw the incident."
She appealed to anyone living nearby or driving past the Santander branch at the time to check CCTV or dashcam footage for anything that could assist the investigation.
"The smallest detail could be the key to finding the person responsible," she said.
