Curzon Ashton v Southport on Boxing Day

As it stands the game at Curzon Ashton is set to go ahead on Boxing Day and it looks like a great following of Southport fans will be making the one hour trip to give the lads some well deserved support.

Southport’s scheduled midweek trip to Kettering was called off due to COVID in the Kettering camp which gave manager Liam Watson the chance to check over the squad and gave the players a free week to get over the bumps and bruises.

Southport go into the game on a great run of form and will be looking to continue that run in the festive fixture.

Curzon are without a league win in six games but came very close last time out only being denied the three points by a very late equaliser from Kidderminster. They have also beaten AFC Fylde at home this season so Southport know this won’t be an easy ride by any means. They have had a difficult run of fixtures.

It will be a bit of a home coming for Cam Mason who was the regular shot stopper at Curzon for a number of years.

Southport return to Haig Avenue on Tuesday December 28th when they entertain Farsley Celtic.
