Cyclists and Motorcyclists Urged to Use Alternative Transport amidst Weather Warning

ww

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and high winds. Whilst wind speeds are predicted be lower in the north west, they will still be high until Friday, and prolonged rain is expected to lead to localised flooding.

Cyclists and motorcyclists should use alternative transport where possible. If not, ensure that all lights are fully working. Bright/reflective clothing will help you to be seen. Pedestrians should be aware of the possibility of flying debris.

Drivers of high sided vehicles should take care on the Formby Bypass and Coastal Road/Marine Drive.
Visibility for drivers, particularly in the hours of darkness will be poor and we are already dealing with road traffic collisions in the current conditions. Please remember that a speed limit is just that, a 'limit', not a target, and drive in accordance with the conditions.
