Drone restrictions for Southport Air Show

1 The Southport Air show 2023 is scheduled to take place at Southport, Merseyside, between 08-10 September 2023.

The Secretary of State for Transport has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to introduce the following Restriction of Flying Regulations made under Article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016:
 ) Subject to para (b) below between:


i. 1200 hours and 1600 hours on 08 September 2023, and

ii. 1000 hours and 1730 hours daily on 09 and 10 September 2023, no aircraft is to fly below 5000 FT AMSL within thearea bounded by a circle having a radius of 2.3 NM whose centre is at 533921N 0030117W (Southport, Merseyside).


b) Paragraph (a) above does not apply to any aircraft flying in accordance with the permission of the Flying Display Director of the Southport Air show who may be contacted on telephone number 07711-437499.


2 The times mentioned in regulation 1(a) are Universal Co-ordinated Time (UTC), which is one hour behind British Summer Time.


3 An additional Restricted Area (Temporary), of differing dimensions, will established for the display by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Display Team, The Red Arrows and will be notified by separate NOTAM.


4 Details of Restricted Airspace (Temporary) feature in the daily AIS Information Line message 08085-354802 and will be includedon the Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB) through the AIS Web site at www.nats.aero/ais.
