Early morning armed police raid at the Travelodge in Southport

Armed police were seen going into Southport Travelodge at around 7am today. Three police vehicles and two units with armed policemen were outside.

The police did not appear to arrest anybody.

After ten minutes the police left at high speed down Lord Street.
