Sefton@Work retains top customer service rating with five new awards

Sefton Council’s free employment, training and recruitment service, Sefton@Work, has retained its full Customer Service Excellence rating and achieved five new Compliance Plus ratings.

Sefton@Work offers free, confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance to Sefton residents over 16 years on all aspects of jobs, education and training including self-employment.

It first achieved Customer Service Excellence in 2010 and, as is required, has shown year on year improvements ever since.

Additionally, the team gained a further five Compliance Plus ratings relating to Information and Access, Delivery, Customer Insight and Culture. To achieve Compliance Plus an organisation must exceed the standard required in a particular area

Sefton@Work now have 33 Compliance Plus ratings overall putting them among the top performing organisations in the country for Customer Service.

Annual independent assessments are carried out annually. Vital evidence for these stems from assessors' observations and conversations with clients and partners.

In his feedback, the Customer Service Excellence assessor Paul Latham noted:‘Evidence available points to positive outcomes for the community as promised, including jobs, training and career progression for most clients.

He further praised the team’s approach, saying ‘The group of clients interviewed were unanimous that this service is positive and helpful in all that it does. The offer open to them is precisely that which they were promised.

“Congratulations to them on another year of top quality service and improvements that have led to them retaining their Customer Service Excellence status and achieving new Compliance Plus ratings.”

Sefton@Work’s main offices are in Bootle and Southport. people seeking work can access free support through face-to-face appointments. They can help people with dedicated career advice help with CVs and application forms and coaching in Interview Skills.

They can also provide local employers with cost-free recruitment support, including free vacancy advertising, candidate screening, and application management.

Connect to Work, a national programme for people who need some extra support to move into meaningful employment is also delivered locally by Sefton@Work. The programme also supports people who are already working but worried about losing their job, helping them stay in secure, long‑term employment.
