Southport Offshore Rescue Trust’s quad team helped Merseyside Police find two missing people during an early-morning search on Southport Beach.

The team was called out at 3.11am on Monday, August 24, 2026. The search was supported by the Trust’s drone, which used thermal imaging to quickly locate one of the people.

The quad team later found the second person near Rainford’s Track. The quads, drone crew and police worked together to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.

The rescue team then returned to its station and washed down the vehicles before sunrise.

Our thanks to all involved.
