Emma, aged 10, from Linaker Primary School wins Damien Moore MP’s 2022 Christmas Card
Competition.
Damien Moore MP has announced that the winning entry to his 2022 Christmas Card Competition
has come from a Year 6 pupil from Linaker Primary School.
In November, primary schools across Southport were invited to take part in the competition, with
their pupils being asked to design the front cover to the local MP’s Christmas Card.
Hundreds of submissions were received from schools across the town. The winner, Emma, was
chosen from Linaker Primary School, with her design featuring an Elf on the (festively decorated!)
Shelf.
Emma’s artwork will appear on some 700 Christmas Cards which are being sent by Mr. Moore to
King Charles III, other members of the Royal Family, the Prime Minister, Members of Parliament, and
organisations across Southport.
Four runners-up were also selected, whose designs feature on the back of the card. The runners-up
are:
- Ella, aged 7, from Ainsdale St John’s C of E Primary School
- Zuzanna, aged 7, from Churchtown Primary School
- Umaiza, aged 10, from Linaker Primary School
- Olivia, aged 8, from Ainsdale St John’s C of E Primary School
Mr. Moore visited Linaker Primary School earlier this month to present a certificate and advent
calendar to the winner and runner-up, along with a framed photo of the Prime Minister holding the
winning entry. The other three runners-up also received certificates and advent calendars.
Damien Moore, Member of Parliament for Southport, said:
“Many congratulations to Emma from Linaker Primary School for winning my 2022 Christmas Card
Competition with her fantastic Elf on a Shelf design.
“This week I sent out some 700 cards to members of the Royal Family, including HM King Charles III,
Members of Parliament, and organisations right across Southport.
“I’d also like to say well done to runners-up Ella, Umaiza, Zuzanna, and Olivia. Amid very tough
competition, their designs stood out from the hundreds submitted by primary schools across
Southport.
“I stopped by the Prime Minister’s office and gave him his card in person – he was thoroughly
impressed by all the designs!”
