Ensuring Festive Safety in Southport: Police Increase Presence in City and Town Centres
Police have extra officers patrolling #Liverpool City Centre and all of our town centres to help keep you safe as part of our crime prevention campaign #OperationShepherd so enjoy yourselves but look after each other and follow our safety tips. Talk to our officers if you need any advice, or just come and say hello.
Officers will be patrolling bars, restaurants, shopping centres, Christmas markets, and other popular festive locations to help you safe.
Operation Shepherd is running throughout the festive period and into the New Year, with extra officers policing the vibrant night-time economies of the city and busy town centres throughout Merseyside.
Officers are linked in with CCTV operators and work in partnership with local businesses, door staff, licensees and bar staff to help make sure you feel safe whilst enjoying a night out.
We ask that you help us by continuing to report offences or any suspicious behaviour so we can ensure people’s Christmas and #NewYear are remembered for the right reasons.
Take care of valuables, keep your bag closed with the opening facing towards your body in crowded areas, don't leave shopping bags on display in your car, keep your wallet or valuables out of sight.
Plan your journey home before you set off - pre-book a taxi, or arrange a lift with a non-drinking driver - and go home with friends if you can. If you are walking, keep to busy and well-lit streets where possible.
Enjoy #Christmas around #Merseyside stay safe and look after each other.
