FA Trophy Result. Eastleigh 0 Southport 2

On a day that saw us hear about the loss of an all time Southport great we put in a performance that Eric Redrobe would have been mightily appreciative of.

After all the disapointment of the weekend with the late call off and wasted journey the lads responded in style running out 2-0 winners.

Goals from Teddy Lavelle just before half time and Malakai McKenzie on 50 minutes sealed the win for a makeshift Southport side that only had three outfield subs and a ‘keeper.

Thank you to everyone that traveled down to Eastleigh last night, some for the second time. One report says 14 another says 49 away fans were in attendance. There were a few southern based fans but definitely some who had made the trip from Southport.

Our commentary attracted the highest ever listener numbers, thank you to everyone who tuned in.

We go on to play AFC Fylde away from home on Saturday January 31st which will mean our game at King’s Lynn will need to be rearranged.
